Hi there,
Thanks for checking out my work. If you’ve come across this page, it’s likely that you have questions regarding my background, training, gear etc……, I hope I’m able to answer all those questions here. If not, feel free to contact me via email. I most likely won’t be able to get to you right away however.
I got started in photography when I was in high school and my parents bought me my first camera, a Pentax film camera. I love, LOVED that camera and it was never far from me. I took film classes in college and enjoyed the process but never thought I could actually make a living from it. Fast forward 4 years and I’m in knee deep in a career path that was quickly burning me out. I started picking up my camera more and quickly upgraded to my first dslr, a Nikon d70. This was my ticket to a far more rewarding career in the making. I’ve upgraded many times since and am now doing this full time. It took time, skill and alot of hard work on my part. I am thankful and blessed to be able to do what I love as a job.
While film classes where beneficial in its own way. I found that I learned more, faster from real world working experience. I also had the benefit of learning from a fantastic photographer and mentor, Scott Robert Lim and he showed me more in 3 days of working with him then I had in three years of puttering along on my own. Scott still teaches and I highly recommend his workshops to any newbie and amateur photographer.
I use a handful of photoshop actions from places like Totally Rad Actions and Kevin Kubata Actions along with some that I have developed for myself. I also use a pc and Lightroom 3 and Photoshop CS5.
I now offer mentoring sessions for $150 an hour. Mentoring sessions are one-on-one only and cover portfolio critiquing, editing, workflow, posing, off camera lighting and social media for the small business.
